ARID · Atmospheric water generators

Water,
from air.

Clean drinking water, even in the driest climates. Arid draws fresh, great-tasting water straight from the air and keeps producing down to 10% humidity, where condensation machines stall. For homes that need their own supply, and for the NGOs and field teams solving water at scale.

The problem

Most machines quit when the air gets dry. Arid doesn't.

Conventional generators chill air until dew forms. That works in humid climates and collapses in exactly the places that run short of water. Arid takes a different path through the same air.

Condensation units
Stall

Below roughly 30% humidity, output falls off a cliff. In a desert, that is most of the year.

Arid + MOF
Keeps going

A metal-organic framework adsorbs water vapor directly, so production continues down to about 10% RH.

The result is a machine that earns its place where water is hardest to find, not just where it is already easy. And it does it quietly, with no compressor roar, just a soft fan you can keep running in a kitchen or bedroom.

How it works

Air goes in. Clean drinking water comes out.

Four steps, no plumbing, no chemistry to manage. The unit handles all of it after a five-minute warm-up.

STEP 01

Pull in air

A quiet intake draws ambient air through a filter, even in dry, dusty, desert conditions.

STEP 02

Capture the water

The metal-organic framework adsorbs water molecules straight from the air, working far below the dew point.

STEP 03

Release and collect

A gentle cycle releases the captured water and collects it inside the unit, ready to be cleaned.

STEP 04

Filter and dispense

Multi-stage filtration brings it to about 20 TDS, then it pours from the top faucet, clean and ready to drink.

Atmospheric water generator / noun /

A machine that makes clean drinking water from the moisture already in the air. Arid units capture water molecules with a metal-organic framework (MOF), so they keep producing down to about 10% relative humidity, where condensation-based machines stall.

An atmospheric water generator (AWG) is a machine that makes clean drinking water from the moisture already in the air. Arid units draw in ambient air, capture water molecules with a metal-organic framework (MOF), release them as liquid, then run the water through multi-stage filtration before dispensing it from a built-in faucet.

Arid units do. Instead of chilling air to its dew point, the MOF inside adsorbs water molecules directly, so production continues down to roughly 10% relative humidity, where condensation-based machines lose most of their output. Output still scales with humidity and temperature, so very dry days yield less than humid ones.

The Arid Home unit produces 20+ liters of drinking water per day, enough for a household's drinking and cooking. The Arid Commercial unit produces up to 100 liters per day, and units cluster to meet larger site demand.

Factory testing measured output near 20 TDS (total dissolved solids), below the EPA's recommended drinking-water guidance and close to distilled. Water passes a multi-stage filter before dispensing, and independent lab certification for your region is part of our pre-sale process.

The Arid Home unit is $5,000. Qualifying NGOs and humanitarian programs receive $1,000 off, bringing it to $4,000 per unit, with volume terms for larger deployments. Commercial and high-volume units are quoted to your site.

The two ongoing costs are electricity and the filter core. All-in water cost lands under 10 cents per liter at typical power rates, and the filter is replaced once a year for $45. Running on solar removes most of the electricity cost.

No. The home unit is plug-and-play: set it in place, plug into a standard 120V outlet or solar, and it produces water after a five-minute warm-up. Continuous fill to a storage tank and a hot-and-cold tap are optional configurations.

Yes. Every Arid unit runs on a standard wall outlet or solar with the same output either way, so it can be a fully off-grid water source. The commercial unit also supports hybrid grid-plus-solar setups.

Condensation units chill air until dew forms, which works in humid climates and collapses below roughly 30% humidity. Arid's metal-organic framework adsorbs water vapor directly from the air, so it keeps producing in the dry regions that need water most, down to about 10% relative humidity, and runs whisper-quiet with no compressor.

Yes, this is core to why Arid exists. Units are self-contained and solar-ready, so field teams can bring clean-water generation with them and leave units behind for lasting local impact. NGO pricing is $4,000 per unit with volume terms, and our NGO partnerships are led by Patrick Tarlton.
